Q. Each time I try and log into the system I receive a message saying "Your logon session has expired, please enter your logon credentials again.."

A. Your internet browser doesn't seem to be allowing the use of "cookies", Click Here for information on enabling them in your browser.

Q. This whole thing seems a little elaborate. What's the deal?

A. Last year WLUSU received over 5806 applications combined for its Part-Time and Volunteer positions. Previously, all applications would have to be meticulously filed in large cabinets and marking these applications took days upon days. With the Online HR system, marking applications is no longer a matter of days, but hours. Other benefits include better student interaction, better hiring model for HR, blind marking, job tracking, monitoring, simple promotion, greater visibility, automated hiring decisions, safeguards... the list goes on.

Q. I've never applied for a WLUSU position before. Is there anything I should know?

Q. How is the WLUSU Online HR system secure?

A. Most importantly, for the security and privacy of our users, the entire Online HR system is hosted and run from a datacenter based in Toronto, Ontario. The entire system has been developed and secured by Merit Solutions, an independent entity from WLUSU. This means that the system runs on an independent network from that of WLU and all applications are stored off-site.

Q. Couldn't hiring staff give preference to some students over others during the hiring process?

A. The Online HR system addresses this concern by randomly selecting markers for each application. As well, all applications are anonymous, the marker does not know the identity of the applicant, only when entering interview and creative marks are the names revealed. Even at this stage, markers do not have access to view, mark, or process ANY applications for positions which they have applied to or held previously. Any marks entered by hiring staff are recorded and tagged to that staff member in order for the system to trace marking paths, detect discrepancies, and prevent misuse.

Q. If I'm in the middle of an application when the deadline passes, I can still submit my application correct?

A. NO. The system strictly monitors deadlines for applications and will not allow any answers to be submitted after the deadline has passed. There are NO EXEPTIONS.

Q. What if I already completed an application but was modifying it as the deadline passed?

A. Your application will still be valid and listed as complete. The modifications made to the answer submitted past the deadline will not be added.
